What did Miss Nepal do?

I am opposition of Miss Nepal because I don't think only 20 girls can lead whole country. There are many girls/women in Nepal who are more beauty in character and mind rather than facial structure. For instance if you are familiar about JHAMAK GHIMIRE who writes an article in Kantipur. She is physically disabled but nobody cares about her intelligent. If one organization gathers 20 or 30 women who are form the richest family of the town and ask them to be virtually naked it doesn't work like that. As we consider the situation of Nepalese women is still worse in the world. Sourse Photo
There is a lot of evidence in Nepal about Miss Nepal who don't do anything for the country even they win the contest. They were only limited in a big posters and newspapers, so I have a many question to last Miss Nepal. What did they do after winning the contest? What was the benefit for the country spending a lot of money in a big poster and hording board? Who knows them besides the company (i.e. Dauber Nepal/India) where the participants were purchased in contract? Therefore, instead of spending huge amount of Money for nothing it would be useful to help a needy children or women in Nepal. Economically Nepal is very backward country but to be a necked (see website ) so-called Model is quite forward in the world.

Suraj Ji, I have a bit different view on this issue. Last year Sugarika K.C. got involved in many fundraising campaigns. The intention of Miss Nepal (I think) is to create a icon that everybody knows so that businesses can make money of them. However, last miss nepal did a lot for cancer victims and other social activities too. All the participants of Miss Nepal are 18+ , so they have right to do what they want to do. If they want to be involve in showbiz, it should be OK.

My question is with those Maoists who still hold thousands of UNDERAGE childeren in their armed froces. When will they let those innocents to go to school and chose their future after their brain gets developed.

If the protest against Miss Nepal is just to hold the tradition of Nepal, I have nothing to say. However, It should be a time to be creative and show the world rather than creating obstacles everywhere.

I think Mr Dhakal's arguments give the impression of what today's Nepalis youth has in mind abt such beauty contests.

Suraj-ji, you have to move forward- the world is changing so much at such a fast pace- I love India models, and all. Particularly, the Indian fashion industry has given employment to thousands of women alike. Why not give our Nepalis women a chance to become self-dependent and economically secure?

Live and let live... (But looking at the Nepali models- I also think that it should be closed. Nevermind!)
